About me
I am a Latinx educator who has spent 39 years reimagining education with my high school writers and readers. My Masters is in Secondary Curriculum Design from Siena Heights University where I was also a member of the teacher education faculty for 13 years. I am active in the Michigan Council for Teachers of English and the National Writing Project. I am passionate about trauma informed practices in the classroom and a fierce advocate for youth mental health. I am a certified Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Leader, Conflict Resolution trainer, and Restorative Practitioner. Helping marginalized youth find a safe and equitable place to belong is what moves me forward.
